Cedarwood GATE meetings will be held once a week on Thursday mornings before school from 7:30-8:30 in Room A. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, October 17th from 7:30-8:30.
The 2019-2020 GATE Theme is Ancient Egypt: Traveling the Cataracts.
Cedarwood GATE students will participate in a stimulation that will include a variety of hands-on/minds-on learning activities to learn Egyptian history, architecture, art, geography, and language. Situated on the Nile- the longest river in the world at 4,145 miles in length- Egypt is one of the great river civilizations of ancient history and is a unique civilization when compared to the West. The EGYPT simulation is organized into six major phases called "cataracts". As they travel north on the Nile through these six diversions of the river, students will earn travel points as citizens of one of five important cities of ancient Egypt.
Students will also be going to the Rosecrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose on January 30th, 2020.
