The choir program at Cedarwood is for 5th and 6th graders that love to sing and perform! The group learns two part music and performs at least four times during the year including festivals with other schools and winter and spring concerts at school. The students in choir learn how to read music, sing in different languages, and experience varying different genres of music.
My name is
Liz Gergian and I teach general music and choir at Cedarwood and Weldon Elementary and 2
nd grade music at Red Bank. My family and I moved to Clovis in December 2021 and have enjoyed getting to know the area. Before moving to Clovis we spent a few years doing missionary work in Malaysia and Australia. It was a wonderful experience and I’m so thankful we had the opportunity to expand our horizons. Before moving overseas I worked as an Elementary Music Teacher in Columbia, Missouri for 4 years. Along with my job and travel experiences I hold a Teaching Certification, a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor’s degree in music from CSU, Bakersfield.
I believe this community is full of people with unique life experiences and knowledge to share. We can learn so much when we share together and focus on encouraging growth. I will bring my own experience, but more than my sharing, I look forward to learning and growing with you all!
